1. How to make the biggest cuboid out of an A4 paper? (Draw a net of a cuboid (with 6 faces) on an A4 paper (210 mm x 297 mm) such that the volume of the cuboid formed being the biggest.) 2. Make the biggest three-dimensional object (other than cuboid) out of an A4 paper. (Draw the net.) Please explain!!! Thanks!!! 更新: In the nets you give, show all necessary dimensions and calculate the volumes (e.g. 225000)

I cannot draw here for limited tools. 1) From S.1 textbook we know there are different nets for formation of a cuboid. The longest side will be 70 mm for it must have 3 squares consecutively on each direction and the shortest side has 210 mm only, hence the maximum length of the cuboid is 70 mm. Its maximum volume is thus ( 70 mm )^3 = 341000 mm^3. 2) The cuboid is already the 3D solid with biggest volume formed, since for other rectangular solids no matter how large the base it can make, the height will be limited small and thus, the final volume will still be small which is the product of 3 sides. Hope I can help you.
